When someone's name and address match in the database, the Treasurer's office will send them a letter telling them how much money they're getting.

Snap Financing, a U.S. financial company, had a problem with the security of its data and client information. Now, they have to send out these stimulus checks to make up for that security issue. This data breach occurred between June 23 and September 8 in 2022. So, if you were a client of the company during those months, you might be able to apply for a stimulus check. Here's who is eligible for Illinois State's $5,000 Stimulus:

  • - You must have used the company's services between June 23 and September 8, 2022.
  • - Show proof, like documents, to demonstrate how the data breach affected you.
  • - Submit all necessary documents well before the January 16, 2024, deadline.
  • - If you apply by the deadline, you could receive up to $5,000 as part of this stimulus check.
  • - Due to the data breach, Snap Financing has to pay a total of $1.8 million.
