People in Alaska who are qualified to receive money from the Permanent Fund Dividend for the year 2023 but haven't gotten it yet will get their payment from the state Department of Revenue in 10 days.
Alaskans who are supposed to get money once a year will receive their next payment in less than two weeks. This batch of payments is the fifth set of checks for 2023 sent by the PFD to eligible residents since October.
If you have the "Eligible-Not Paid" status on January 10 and still haven't received your yearly payment from the state program, you'll get it on January 18. This includes payments for the year 2023 or any earlier ones that you haven't received from the Alaska Department of Revenue.
To be part of the program, you must plan to live in Alaska for a long time and not have been convicted of a serious crime, among other things. If you're from Alaska, you can sign up for the program for the year 2024 starting now until March 31. You can do it online or fill out a paper form.
Every year, the state decides how much money each resident gets in the PFD check. They figure it out based on the money they make from minerals in the state that year. For 2023, each resident got a PFD check of $1,312.
Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said, "The 2023 PFD is the 42nd year that Alaskans are getting their part of the state's natural resource wealth. I want to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for working hard all year to manage the program and handle the applications."
"This year, we handled more than 8,000 extra applications compared to 2022. The 2023 PFD will put almost $1 billion into Alaska's economy and directly into the hands of the people," he added.
